Waste X Tracking Ltd uses a small amount of browser storage to operate our website and web platform. Analytics is optional and disabled until you choose to allow it. This policy also covers similar technologies such as analytics scripts, even when they do not set cookies.
1. What we use
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Local storage keeps preferences on your device. Some analytics tools collect aggregate usage information using scripts without relying on cookies. We distinguish essential technology needed to provide the service from optional analytics.
2. Essential cookies and storage
These support requested services, account security or recording your privacy choice. They remain available whether or not you allow analytics.
| Technology | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication/session cookies (Auth.js) | Keep authorised users signed in and protect authentication flows. | Session or up to 30 days, depending on cookie and sign-in state. |
wx_site_view | Remember the permitted site selected in the web platform. This does not grant site access. | Up to 30 days. |
wx_cookie_choice_v1 (local storage) | Remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. | We ask again after 180 days, or sooner if preferences are cleared. |
Authentication providers and hosting/security services may also use transient cookies needed for sign-in, fraud protection and reliable delivery. Exact cookie names can vary by environment and provider.
3. Optional analytics
If you opt in, we load Ahrefs Web Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. These help us understand page visits, traffic sources and website performance. The providers describe these products as privacy-focused and cookieless, but their scripts still send analytics information to their services. We do not load them before your choice.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics: aggregate website usage.
- Vercel Web Analytics: aggregate visits and page usage.
- Vercel Speed Insights: website performance and Web Vitals.
We do not offer an advertising-cookie opt-in because no advertising tracker is configured in this consent integration. If that changes, we will update this policy and request any necessary consent first.
4. Your choices
On your first visit, you can accept analytics, reject analytics or review the details. Rejecting analytics does not stop essential sign-in, security or site selection. You can change your decision at any time using the button below or the Cookie settings link in our footer. When you withdraw consent, we reload the page so previously loaded analytics scripts stop running.
You can also clear the site's storage and cookies through your browser settings. This may sign you out or reset your site selection, and you will be asked for an analytics choice again.
5. Updates and questions
We review this policy when our services or technologies change. For questions about cookies or personal information, contact Waste X or read our Privacy Policy.
